School Trips and visits this term

This term the school is having a couple of trips and visits. Class Three, because our topic is mountains; are going to Mulberry House Environmental study centre in Abergavenny just outside the Brecon Beacons, there year five and six will be doing activities like: map work; Geo-caching; mountain ecology and hill walking. Class two are going to Goodrich castle, because their theme is castles. Also Years 4 and 5 are having their cycling test around the play ground. Year 6 are also going to Crucial Crew where they will be doing Drugs awareness, Fire safety, Water safety and crime prevention.

New assemblies

This term we had a new interactive whiteboard in the hall and we think assemblies are much better because we get to watch video clips and pictures of happiness and the teacher’s get to go on the Internet. This term our value is  happiness, happiness is being friends, being helpful to the teachers, having a laugh, having Mrs. Dean as my new teacher and her being very kind to me.

School council

This year our classes have just elected some new school council members, we have one for years one; two; three; four and five. But year R pupils are too little to be in the school council and years six have two members on the school council. The members of the school council are Sam (Y1) Matthew (Y2) , Sam (Y3), Georgia (Y4), Jonathon  (Y5), Alex  and Ross (Y6 pupils). They are meeting with Mr. Best every Thursday morning (in the ICT suite) to have a discussion about how pupils can improve the school.   At the moment they are discussing school rules and ways we can make them even better.

New Playground Markings

This year we have got new playground markings. There are snakes, hop scotch, feet to follow, new basketball nets and a compass. There is a fitness course to follow and all the children love them.  We saw the man doing the playground.

School clubs

This year we have had some new school clubs and they are: school news letter, eco club, DT club and basket ball club. In the school news letter last week we took photographs of the clubs. We will send the letters home and if children want to look at what we have being doing, then they can look at the photos. We have taken photos of DT club when they were making kites and decorating them, while they made them.
